

Richard Hein, Horn
Richard Hein graduated from the Manhattan School of Music
after attending there on a
full scholarship. He studied with Richard C. Moore, first hornist in the
Metropolitan Opera Orchestra for many years. He also studied with Phillip
Farkas at the Aspen Music Festival and Carmine Caruso, among others.
He performed extensively with numerous symphony orchestras, including the New Jersey
Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic and Seattle Symphony.
He played in various
Broadway shows, opera and show tours and with many chamber music groups, touring
throughout the USA and Canada with the Linden Quintet and through Switzerland
with the Manhattan Woodwind Quintet.
He makes his home in the New York area and now works full time at his own
company, Hein Computing, Inc. as a
computer consultant.
He still plays with the quintet and on various other
musical engagements.
